GstarCAD System Requirements

Before installing the GstarCAD program, check whether your computer’s specifications meet the following requirements:

• Operating System (OS)

  • Windows 11

  • Windows 10 version 1507 or newer: Home, Professional, Education and Enterprise (LTSC and Windows 10 S are not supported)

  • Windows 8.1 (with update 2919355): Core, Professional and Enterprise

  • Windows 7 SP1 (with the latest updates): Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate

  • Windows Server 2016: Standard and Datacenter

  • Windows Server 2019: Standard and Datacenter

  • Windows Server 2022: Essentials, Standard, Datacenter

Notes:

  1. GstarCAD and related tools are developed and compiled using Visual Studio 2022. To ensure the software works properly, the operating system must be able to correctly install the Visual Studio 2022 runtime library.

  2. If you encounter problems during installation or startup, try right-clicking the installer and manually installing the Visual Studio 2022 environment. If that fails, an operating system upgrade is required.

  3. During installation and activation, you must right-click the icon and select “Run as administrator.”

  4. If your antivirus software triggers warnings during installation, you must allow all actions to ensure a successful installation.

1.6 GHz processor (multi-core processor with 2 GHz or more is recommended)

• Memory (RAM)
2 GB (8 GB or more recommended)

• Graphics Card
1 GB graphics processor (2 GB or more recommended)

• Hard Drive
System and installation drive must have more than 1 GB of free space (10 GB or more recommended)
For better performance, it is recommended to install and run the program on an SSD.

• Screen Resolution
1024×800 or higher; GstarCAD works best with HD or 4K resolution.

• Additional Requirements

  • Administrative rights are required to install GstarCAD and licensing tools.

  • Microsoft .NET 8.0 (only for custom software development).

  • The network license server and all workstations using network-licensed applications must support the TCP/IP protocol.

Other Operating Systems:

  • macOS

    GstarCAD 2026 for macOS is available exclusively for Mac computers with Apple Silicon processors (from M1 to M4).
    Older Macs with Intel processors are not supported.

    Linux

    GstarCAD for Linux supports Ubuntu, Debian, and Astra Linux distributions (64-bit AMD/Intel systems).
    The program is designed for stable operation in a professional environment and allows working with DWG files even on the Linux platform.
